i have 4.2 if i never update any more will i be good from getting bricked

  1. I also have 4.2 , Nintendo won’t release another firmware update in a while I believe. Homebrew channel is not a disease, it is not HIV for the Wii. It does not destroy your Wii over the course of time. As long as your Wii turns on, Homebrew Channel will work.
    Homebrew channel always gets updates just like regular wii firmware. Other apps as well. If you are worried that when new games come out, will require a HIGHER firmware do not worry. With Preloader there is a way to skip that so that It doesn’t even check/ask. In most cases it doesn’t even matter it’s just another way of Nintendo trying to block people from modding their Wii’s.
    If you DO want to to update and be 100% safe. The best thing to do ( but kind of dumb) is remove all your mods safely ( like Homebrew channel running uninstaller) and get your Wii back to it’s “virgin” state. , Update like how you used to and then see if by then there is a NEW way to get firmware back. I would only do this when theres a NEW way to get it back because if not your kind of screwed.
