  2. 5 stars. Good lesson in brewing. Keep up the good work, although in this case I guess you won’t need too much encouragement? Cheers

  3. i once made my own wine from apples and strawberry, made the mistake of blending the apples instead of using just applejuice so it became a tad too bitter, but still very drinkable

never made beer tho, beer takes less time but is a little trickier imo

  5. Yay!!! Another brewer. I love making beer, wine and heck other things we don’t speak about in public.;-) I make my beer out of dried hops this time of year so I’m sure yours will be fine. If you’re in Wisconsin in late summer you can come on over and pick your own hops from my river hops patch. Your brew looks good, let us know how good it goes down!

  8. May I ask why you used wine in the air lock??? I am very cheap I use ballons with a pin prick in it. Cant see the bubble goin but It works for my meads that I brew.

  9. Sounds great, honey sugar is one of the healthiest of sugars (in moderation)

  10. No special reason to use wine in the air lock, a guy I work with uses Everclear. I think the idea is that you don’t accidently introduce bacteria or bad yeast into the brew when you fill the air lock.

  11. Yea, I experimented with dandylion wine last year and it turned out bitter and lacked taste. I want to try to get this right before I experiment again.

  24. got to love a good beer, next time get a kit with no rice or corn and just malt barley, it will give the beer a better taste.
