One quick tip. Although at 2 weeks its drinkeable, I recomend you leave it for 4-6 weeks. At 4 weeks its great, and at 6 weeks its fantastic. Heck I’ve left beers for 3 months and they end up astonishing.
Oh yeah and a pro-tip with the coopers stuff, use Dextrose if you can get it, it makes a world of difference. You can also get a bit of extra good taste by going and getting some high quality yeasts from a brew shop, pitching it properly and using that, watching your temp when fermenting.

Hey just saw your video! Glad you liked the Dark Ale. That’s’ all that matters is what you like.
That was also the first beer that I brewed and was very disappointing with it. I found it to have an apple/cidery flavor and not have ‘body/grain’ flavor.
A lot of times I think I’m tasting something different that everyone else. I think the draught was the best by far and that was the only one I gave to other people to try. The other ones no way hehehe…
Nice vid! Keep em up!

you know i tried another one just the other day and it had a flavor that wasn’t to strong but i couldn’t figure it out and i think it might be that apple flavor. yeah i am going to let the dark ale sit for about three more weeks and try it again to see if it will smooth out. The next beer is going to be the IPA and i am using DME this time so hopefully it doesn’t have that flavor. I also agree that there was some flavor lacking but hard to pin point hopefully the DME will help with that. thanks

Yeah it must be that apple flavor. Some refer to it as cider. My dark ale had it really bad actually. I let a bottle sit for over 2 months and brought it out on Christmas before dinner. When I tasted it, I wouldn’t let anyone else have it because the apple flavor never went away and I knew people wouldn’t like it. They were ‘impressed’ with the draught though. In the sense of ‘you made this’.
I tried the DME with the stout and unfortunately it didn’t give it that grain flavor. I hope yours is b

Hey welcome to the world of home brewing man. Craig was a great help to me too. I’m into my second year at it now. I have some videos of brews up too.
I dig that beard man! Kinda McCartney ‘Let It Be’ period.

Coopers does suck! Wanna know why?? Because people that know anything about beer know it isn’t brewed from a tin can. What I’m seeing is a total disrespect for the brewing arts. What CraigBoob has done is start a fraternity for kit brewing. This is what happens when a brewing education takes a backseat to using copious amounts of corn sugar and various other sugars to boost alcohol. Well, those of us who take the arts seriously, aren’t taking it anymore!!

Great video! Craig is a great guy, and has helped guys like you and I, brew our first batch of beer! Try to ignore those pesky people like TakeSomeAdvice, and nige4958. They have no idea, when it comes to brewing good beer at home. TakeSomeAdvice talks like he knows what he is doing, but the proof is in his terrible videos on “homebrewing” We all thank CRAIG for his vids! Cheers!

@nige4958 Pull your head out of your a** will you. Kits are for beginners. Some might progress onto all grain eventually but you’ve got to start somewhere. People who really appreciate the art of brewing have respect for every level of brewer. as if you care what everyone else does anyway, haven’t you got anything better to do.

@freebz1122 …I care a great deal about the poor sob who buys a Cooper’s Kit. People who really respect the art of brewing laugh hysterically at people who brew from Cooper’s Kit. A better beginning program would be full wort boils with extract. Then, once one gets comfortable with the procedures of handling yeast and full wort boils, it’s time for all grain.
