Recipes from cake mixes #13: Root Beer Butter Pecan Cake

This is a variation on a cake I found in this video: www.youtube.com I used Butter Pecan mix instead of the strawberry cake and Root Beer instead of strawberry soda. I also increased the amount of glaze by 1/2. A super moist sweet cake with just a hint of root beer flavour. Music by: Jason Shaw www.youtube.com Jason Shaw@audionautix.com

  13. Exciting! We are back to the above the cake view! I have three more vids of yours I have to watch. I can’t believe I fell so far behind. HAHAHA I totally said it with you :) I read something interesting last night in regards to sinking cakes. Apparently bringing the eggs to room temp is supposed to help with that. I am going to start doing that more often. Oooh I like your money shots a LOT. So pretty. I like the combo. Maybe root beer extract would bump it up a lot. Glad it went @ the party

  15. @morganmay1 It is a butter pecan flavoured cake mix. I’m not sure if actual pecans were involved in the making of it or not!

  22. That’s a wild idea! I have what’s almost a root beer fetish, love the stuff, and combined with butter pecan, it’s gotta be great!

    Side note: aluminum is an extremely good conductor of heat, so the heat gets through it to the cake much faster. Glass is actually a very good insulator, transmits heat slowly, but will cook more evenly.

  25. a slide show of me attempting to make a variation coming in the next few days for sure!..im going to just use normal icing though and we’ll see what happens…im gonna try a lemon cake with orange pop.
